commercial design

Here is a car wrap I did. Just practicing some commercial design. I used both illustrator and photoshop to create the design. The guy in the corner isn't mine.

A work in progress

Just playing around in Photoshop, and enjoying it! Still got a long ways to go. With his white skin and all, maybe he could be a vampire??

Underwater.

Yesterday I went to the beach with the fam, and I kept feeling things under the water. There had to be some terrible creepy creature under there like this. He is just laughing at me as I am freaking out. This is for Illustration Friday, Underwater.

I decided to revisit the guy today, and it has improved a lot. Still got some more work to go on it!

Ghetto - 3 blind mice

One of my favorite parts about Baltimore was the giant rats every where! I remember one sunday coming home from church we found a huge rat curled up dead on our door steps. I remember one night looking out the window after it had snowed and just seeing like ten rats building tunnels in our back porch. It was quite... lovely. That is why I think the three blind mice fit nicely in this scene jaja.  This was started awhile ago but never finished, it feel great to get it up on the site. Enjoy! Coments are welcome. :)

Fire burning down the apricot tree...

Don't you all just miss primary? I think every young boy wished primary was this exciting... I know I've been to it, and now I've taught it. Don't worry page two is on it's way, I just don't have time to get to it right now. I hope you enjoy, please leave any comments or critique!

Thanks, Kevyn Hale.

Painted in guache, and then text added in photoshop.

Nathan Fowkes copy.

I love Nathan Fowkes' blog and his work, in fact I once saw him speak live and loved it. In the meantime I am trying to figure out how to paint digitally and thought it would be fun. I think it turned out alright - but I got a long way to go! While you're at it, check out Nathan's blog .

As always, thanks for dropping by, and please Invite your friends and join the site ---------> hehe.

Peace again!

I had so much fun painting the alien, I wanted to do it again! So, I thought, why don't I redo the "Power of love." I was able to fix up the body a lot and create a composition I feel is a lot more beautiful. This one came out a lot more sentimLental. There is a message behind this piece. I was a missionary for the LDS church in Baltimore Maryland for two years. During my time there I ran into a lot of homeless people, they seem to flock around missionaries. As missionaries, we are pretty broke and don't have much to give - but what I believe is that the power of love is also the power to change. This man will struggle to change, until he really feels that love from either God or his fellowmen. With all the hatin going around, things aren't going to get any better. (He still has his agency ;))

Oh, the watercolor texture was found on this link.... http://lostandtaken.com/blog/2009/4/30/25-free-high-res-watercolor-textures.html.

If my wife only knew what I really looked like....

Well, I am trying to get back into this art thing-  and it has been awhile since I have done some real digital painting. And I guess you can say that I really haven't done that much at all. I had a digital painting class before, but it was at the same time I met my wife - so lets just say I didn't apply myself very well..... Any ways I am happy with how it came out and I am also happy to say that I actually really enjoy digital painting.

Just a fun doodle in pen that I thought would look great in color! Please leave me a comment, critique, anything helps! Thanks. Kevyn

"The world will know peace..."

Graphite, ball point pen, and digital. Just having some fun with the illustration Friday theme, "Power." I am trying to learn to be more creative, and it was hard to look past rock climbing and the power button - but this saying gave me a lot of ideas. Just did it tonight so I didn't have a ton of time!

OH, Please leave comments and especially any critique! I just want to get better!

Oh you know, just a bunch of various pieces of work that I have done ranging form pencil, oil paints, illustrator and guache.

These are some still life oil paintings and a master copy that I had done a couple of years ago for one of my classes. I really enjoyed oil painting!
